Scope of Work

The project involves comprehensive EPC execution of a 220kV double circuit line, including:

  • Supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of LILO of both circuits of the existing 220kV GPPC–Otha line.

  • Construction using M/C (Multi-Circuit) towers with AL-59 (61/3.50) conductors.

  • Installation of 48F OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) cable for enhanced communication and system protection.

  • Integration of the new LILO section with the upcoming 220kV Mandan (Mota Asarana) Substation.

  • Quality assurance, safety management, and compliance with GETCO’s stringent engineering standards.

Challenges

  • Coordinating live line work and LILO connection with minimal power disruption.

  • Managing limited working corridors in operational grid zones.

  • Ensuring precision alignment and safe stringing of AL-59 conductors in tight clearances.

  • Timely procurement and installation of M/C towers and OPGW cables.

Solution

Concord Construction implemented a well-structured execution strategy to overcome these challenges:

  • Advanced Planning and Sequencing to minimize outage time during LILO integration.

  • Deployment of Skilled Tower Erection Teams experienced in high-voltage live environments.

  • Use of Specialized Lifting and Stringing Equipment ensuring accuracy and safety.

  • Real-Time Monitoring and Coordination between GETCO’s control teams and site engineers.

  • Strict Quality and Safety Protocols followed throughout every construction phase.

Success Story

With over 72% of the work completed, this project stands as a testament to Concord Construction’s commitment to reliability and technical excellence.

The efficient execution of tower erection, conductor stringing, and OPGW installation has positioned the project for early completion. Once energized, this LILO connection will significantly improve grid flexibility and power stability, supporting Gujarat’s growing industrial and urban demand.
